Old Trafford side gear up for a summer of drastic change.
Following David Moyes’ untimely sacking as Manchester United manager last week, the reported £150m transfer kitty will have taken a slight dent thanks to his severance payment.

However, despite the manager’s departure, the club’s owners will be doing everything in their power to bring Champions League football back to Old Trafford for the following year.
Whoever takes over the squad this summer will still have some considerable funds to play with and this is a sneak peak into what their squad could look like next season.
Goalkeepers:
Staying: David de Gea
Leaving: Anders Lindegaard
Coming in: Vanja Milinkovic-Savic
It is unlikely that whoever comes in and replaces David Moyes will be looking for a new number one, as de Gea has firmly established himself as the club’s first choice stopper for the foreseeable future now.
A string of fine performances have made him become one of the league’s top ‘keepers and poor Anders Lindegaard has been left to while away on the bench, prompting him to seek first team football elsewhere next term.
However, United already have a replacement for the Danish international in mind, in the shape of 17-year-old Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who the club invited on a trial earlier on in the season.
Savic will provide cover for the Spaniard, while developing himself as one for the future.
Full-backs:
Staying: Rafael, Chris Smalling
Leaving: Patrice Evra, Alexander Buttner
Coming in: Luke Shaw, Sead Kolašinac
With Patrice Evra likely to move on as his contract expires, United will be hoping to bring on board a new man that could make the spot his own for the next 10-15 years.
With the Frenchman tipped to be joining Inter Milan, United have made young Southampton full-back Luke Shaw their number one priority this summer, after he broke into the England team just in time for Brazil.
However, in recent days Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac has revealed that he has an offer on the table from the club, and is mulling over his best options before committing either way.
Centre-backs
Staying: Phil Jones, Jonny Evans
Leaving: Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand
Coming in: Ezequiel Garay, Ron Vlaar
Vidic has already been confirmed as an Inter Milan player, while the club have continued to remain coy over Ferdinand’s future, but with rumours of him set to hang up his boots this summer then they may just be letting his contract wind down before putting him out to pasture.
Long time target Ezequiel Garay is still being tipped to join the club from Benfica this summer, especially after he admitted that he doesn’t know whether he will still be at the club next season.
But one shock target has emerged this week in the shape of Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar, who may link up with United should Louis Van Gaal be installed as manager.
Central midfield
Staying: Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher, Juan Mata
Leaving: Shinji Kagawa, Tom Cleverley, Marouane Fellaini, Anderson
Coming in: Wesley Sneijder, Cesc Fabregas, William Carvalho
Though Kagawa has been constantly linked with a return to the Bundesliga this summer whoever the new manager is may want to keep him and give him a fair crack of the whip.
Cleverley, though, who in contrast to the Japanese international, has been a target for frustrated fans, but he is said to be wanted by Everton chief Roberto Martinez.
Marouane Fellaini may see his time up after being dropped against Norwich.
Portuguese youngster William Carvalho is rumoured to be on his way after a £37m deal was agreed in principle, however, United may finally get their hands on two of their long term targets in the shape of Wesley Sneijder and Cesc Fabregas. The club have been on their trails for a while, but the Dutchman may follow Van Gaal to the club and the Spaniard has been made a top transfer priority.
Wingers
Staying: Adnan Januzaj
Leaving: Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Nani
Coming in: Antoine Griezmann
United’s wide men have been consistently disappointing this term and the majority of them will face the chop in place of some fresh talent.
Nani has been often linked with a move to Juventus, and his exit has already virtually been confirmed by his agent.
In his place, though, will be French winger Antoine Griezmann, who has come to the fore after a number of quality performances for La Liga outfit Real Sociedad.
Strikers
Staying: Wayne Rooney, Robin Van Persie, Danny Welbeck
Leaving: Javier Hernandez
Coming in: Edinson Cavani
RVP looked all set to be making his way elsewhere just a few weeks ago, but news of Van Gaal’s impending arrival seems to have changed his mind, whilst Rooney only recently penned a lucrative new contract.
However, poor Javier Hernandez has accepted that he may be forced to move on if he wants to salvage his stuttering career, with several top sides in Spain all vying for his signature.
But not content with just that, Paris Saint Germain’s unhappy hit man Edinson Cavani has recently given the club the green light to make a move for him. PSG aren’t thought to be keen on selling, but United will test their resolve with a hefty £60m fee at the end of the season.
