Talented Bayern Munich bit-part player Xherdan Shaqiri is ready to consider life away from the Allianz Arena and is apparently open to a move to join Liverpool according to ESPN.

The 22 year old Swiss international was considered one of the hottest prospects in European football when he secured a move from FC Basel to Bayern Munich but into his second season at the Bavarian club he has seen first team chances severely limited under boss Pep Guardiola.

Shaqiri has started just ten Bundesliga fixtures and hasn’t started a single Champions League encounter and as such is now ready to discuss the possibility of leaving the all conquering German side.

Indeed his brother, and agent, Erdin, has stated his sibling’s interest in a fresh challenge, stating:

“Xherdan is 22. You need to win regular minutes at this age and that, right now, is not the case.

“We are now waiting until the summer. When clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter Milan or other top clubs want to talk, then we will certainly listen to them.”

Interest in Shaqiri will no doubt increase as he prepares for a staring role for Switzerland at the 2014 World Cup finals.

Brendan Rodgers appears keen on bringing in another wide-attacking player, having failed in his pursuit of Ukraine international Yevhen Konoplyanka in January and may well feel Shaqiri would be a better option to pursue.

When called upon Shaqiri has more than proven himself at Bayern Munich, scoring 15 goals and providing 16 assists in 65 appearances of which 34 were from the bench.
