Arsenal are ready to mount a £12m bid for QPR striker Loic Remy according to the Metro.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of the 27 year old French international and his offer is said to be the only one the north London club will make for Remy and want a deal to be agreed before the 2014 World Cup finals get underway.

Wenger may well feel that Remy is the ideal man to boost his striking options with his current first choice central striker Olivier Giroud definitely in need of some support. Both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott have been out for large portions of the current campaign.

Remy has more than proven himself at Premier League level, netting six goals in 13 starts for QPR last term and racking up 13 goals in 22 starts during his season long loan spell at Newcastle United.

QPR are likely to look to cash-in on Remy, especially if they fail to negotiate the play-offs in their push to secure a return to the Premier League.
