Jose Mourinho has insisted the expected sale of Juan Mata to Manchester United has absolutely nothing to do with Chelsea’s pursuit of Wayne Rooney.

Two-time Chelsea player of the year Mata is envisioned to be a part of United in a £37m deal following week, after getting marginalised by Mourinho this time.
The Portuguese has made no secret of his wish to land England striker Rooney, who is stalling on signing a new offer at United.
