The centre back travelled down to London on Friday morning for a medical and to discuss personal terms with Tony Pulis and will go straight into the side to face Arsenal at the weekend.
Dann had been in danger of missing out on a return to the Premier League earlier in the window as clubs baulked at Rovers’ valuation of the him, but Palace remained keen and managed to secure his services.
Norwich City had shown an initial interest in the player too, but they sought targets elsewhere and left the path clear for the Londoners to make their move.
However, Palace fans should take note before getting too excited that during the player’s two spells in the Premier League he has been relegated to the Championship with both Rovers and Birmingham City.
But on the other hand, the partnership he formed with Roger Johnson at City was one of the top flights best for a short while, so there is no cause for alarm.
