Chelsea have been given the green light to make official moves for Southampton duo Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw as the south-coast side prepares to sell a number of their top talents in order to balance the books according to Goal.com.

The St Mary’s side will demand in excess of £20m for teenage full-back Shaw, who is also being pursued by Man United, who is seen by many as an ideal long term replacement for veteran Ashley Cole.

Shaw was named in the PFA team of the season and could well feature in Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad after a hugely successful campaign during which the youngster has matured into one of the hottest prospects in European football.

The fact that Shaw is apparently a Chelsea fan will only aid their push to capture the Southampton man.

One imagines Southampton will demand a similar fee for Lallana, who has been a great servant of the club, helping them rise from League One to the top half of the Premier League.

The 25 year old is also likely to be on the plane to Brazil and is a player Brendan Rodgers would also like to sign.

Lallana may well be seen as a successor to another long serving Chelsea star, Frank Lampard, and may feel the time is right to make the ‘step up’ to a side that is challenging for major honours though he will hope for guarantees of first team football.

Arsenal are ready to mount a £12m bid for QPR striker Loic Remy according to the Metro.

Wenger may well feel that Remy is the ideal man to boost his striking options with his current first choice central striker Olivier Giroud definitely in need of some support. Both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott have been out for large portions of the current campaign.

Remy has more than proven himself at Premier League level, netting six goals in 13 starts for QPR last term and racking up 13 goals in 22 starts during his season long loan spell at Newcastle United.

QPR are likely to look to cash-in on Remy, especially if they fail to negotiate the play-offs in their push to secure a return to the Premier League.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho will look to lure the 25 year old to Stamford Bridge and have already begun discussions with FIFA agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who helped Chelsea to bring in Oscar, David Luiz and Ramires.

Real Madrid and AC Milan are also said to be keen on the former Corinthians man but Chelsea are leading the chase to sign the combative midfielder.

Paulinho started the season well but has seen a marked dip in form since Andre Villas-Boas was axed and a move to west London could well tempt the Tottenham man, especially as the White Hart Lane side has failed to secure a Champions League berth.

Chelsea pipped Spurs in the race to sign £32m playmaker Willian and will look to make Paulinho their latest Brazilian capture in a move that is sure to anger fans of the north London club.

Tottenham paid £17m for Paulinho last July and it may well take a bid well in excess of that fee to convince Daniel Levy to sell to an arch rival.

As well as being able to offer Paulinho Champions League action Chelsea can probably offer a significant pay-rise and want to secure a deal so as to be able to unveil the player after the 2014 World Cup finals.
