Vbet.com cites match-fixing clause to deny player winnings

A wagering complaint has been launched against Vbet.com.

A player registered on September 26, opened his account and deposited €1000 via Skrill.

He proceeded to wager on an ATP Shenzen doubles semi-final match with Groth/Guggione vs. Cabal/Farah. His wager was on over 12.5 games in the first set.

He states that the odds he accepted were between 2.87 and 5.85 with stakes from €90 to €130 per play.

The player claimed that he wagered his whole balance (€1000) on the total games in the first set and that he had a balance of €3710. Within one day of profiting betting the match, the player received the following email from Vbet.com.

Vbet.com email: “We would like to inform you that Your bets are being verified by our Monitoring Department. This process will take 30 days. Please wait for the final decision of Monitoring department.”

After this time-frame passed, the player followed up and asked for an update. At this point, Vbet.com cited section 14 of their terms and condition, which read as follows:

“Vbet reserves the right to suspend the payment of the rates and make a return on the rates to the event, if there are solid grounds to believe this match was negotiable. Such grounds may be based on the size, number and nature of the bets made by one or all of the possible methods of betting. The decision of the governing bodies of relevant federations and regulatory bodies are also taken into account. In such cases Vbet reserves the right to hand over the information on related party to the governing bodies for further investigation and preventing similar incidents.”

Sportsbook Review searched the ATP tour website but did not find any evidence that the match in question was investigated by regulating bodies. It is unclear why Vbet.com believes the match in question was rigged.

SBR has followed up on the player’s complaint with Vbet.com.

Vbet.com’s gaming license was issued by the Government of Curacao.

Vbet.com players in need of assistance should submit a sportsbook complaint form.
