Reasons for the Gunners to be cheerful after their convincing victory.
Arsenal put last weekend’s aberration away at Stoke City behind them this evening to stroll to a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium, their second triumph by that scoreline in a week after a Champions League success away at Galatasaray.

It was a convincing display by the Gunners who had far too much for their in form visitors – so what positives can the fans take away from the game? We’ve picked out five:
The performance of Hector Bellerin

Teenage right back Bellerin has had some tough assignments covering for Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers this season, but he seemed to come of age at the Emirates Stadium this evening and was one of the best players on the pitch. Well versed defensively and a huge threat on the break with his searing pace, Bellerin provided a fine assist for Olivier Giroud and looks a real prospect for the future.
Santi Cazorla is still up for the fight

Perpetually linked with a move back to La Liga and Atletico Madrid during the opening months of this season, playmaker Santi Cazorla’s mind was nowhere other than on the job at hand. He provided the creative fulcrum that Arsenal could work around, scored two fine goals and generally showed the form that he possessed immediately after joining the club from Malaga.
The players are still desperate to play for Wenger

There were one or two absurd suggestions after the Stoke defeat that Wenger had ‘lost the dressing room’, universally recognised terminology for a dead manager walking. There is no sign of that at Arsenal, though – Wenger’s players ran through walls for their manager against Newcastle, an attitude that was summed up by Olivier Giroud’s lavish praise after the match.
Olivier Giroud is very much back in business

Olivier Giroud’s recent injury has put a lot of pressure on Danny Welbeck to lead the line for Arsenal early on in his Gunners career, but the return of the Frenchman has really given Arsenal a different dimension in attack. Giroud linked play well, allowed Welbeck to work the channels and move in behind him with some intelligent runs and topped off his display with two fantastically taken goals.
They can win without Alexis Sanchez getting the goals

Okay, he may have bagged himself two assists and generally given Newcastle the runaround, but Alexis Sanchez didn’t get himself on the scoresheet and it has seemed in recent weeks that the Gunners are unable to do anything in the Premier League unless they are dragged along kicking and screaming by the Chilean. That certain theory has been dispelled.
