Marcos Rojo Man Utd

8) Marcos Rojo – Manchester United

The wisdom of signing a player who has played more as a full-back than a centre-back was questioned at the time, with United desperate for cover in the middle.

At £16m Rojo’s shakiness has not helped their defensive woes.

Jack Rodwell Sunderland

7) Jack Rodwell – Sunderland

Rodwell finally made the move away from Manchester City to get minutes, but it looks like he’ll need a few more months to remember what playing for 90 minutes is actually like.

£10m is currently looking like a big fee for the Englishman.

6) Christian Atsu – Everton

He’s only on-loan, but has disappointed fans of both Chelsea and Everton who were hoping for the speedy winger to tear Premier League defences apart after thrilling for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup.

3) Eliaquim Mangala -Manchester City

The £32m defender will probably go on to be a superstar, but he’s been shocking after a good start against the Blues.

Sam Allardyce told the press that exploiting his weakness was key to West Ham United’s strategy in their 2-1 win over City on Saturday.

Bojan Stoke1

2) Bojan Krkic – Stoke City

Expectations were high when Lionel Messi’s former strike-partner joined Mark Hughes’ new look Potters in the summer, but he’s struggled to get minutes ahead of Mame Biram Diouf and Peter Crouch.

costel pantilimon

1) Costel Pantilimon – Sunderland

The Romanian goalkeeper played well when Joe Hart was dropped last year and looked set to get his chance in goal for the Black Cats after Vito Mannone’s dreadful performance against Southampton.

However, Gus Poyet chose to stick with Mannone, and paid the price, with the ‘keeper dropping another clanger against Arsenal.
