England take on Peru at Wembley Stadium in the first of three international friendly matches in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer.
Roy Hodgson is nearing his final chance to experiment with his starting XI, and while he will be keen to try out a number of combinations in these games, he will also be well aware that his best team will need game time together.
This season, a number of Englishmen have played their way into contention.
Adam Lallana has had a stellar season for Southampton, and his inventiveness and comfort on either side will serve him well.
Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck enjoyed his best season in front of goal for years despite limited first team opportunities, and will be keen to add to his stellar England record.
Raheem Sterling is unfortunate to miss out on the starting line-up tonight, but his pace and trickery from the bench could make him a wonderful impact substitute.
Up front, Wayne Rooney is due some big performances in what may be his final World Cup at his peak, and his partnership with Daniel Sturridge will need time to gel.
On paper, Peru should not be the most testing of opposition, with thoughts on the future rather than the immediate major tournament looming on the horizon, but Hodgson will know that a good performance will be vital for confidence.
